
INTERNATIONAL Training Institute (ITI) will take on students for its first degree programme in accounting & finance next year.
ITI chairman and co-founder Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval revealed this during the 63rd graduation ceremony in Port Moresby on Friday which saw more the 400 students graduated with certificates and diplomas in finance, accounting, human resource management, information and communication technology, and business management.
“We are submitting other module degrees as well for approval also”, he said.
“One of the areas that we are also going into is the Artificial Intelligent (AI) as it is now part of our lives and we need to look at promoting ethical inclusion and responses to AI development”.
Meanwhile the Small-Medium Enterprise Corporation (SMEC) managing director Petrus Ralda has reminded the graduates that they were the future of this country and they themselves would be writing their future.
“You all are educated enough to write your own story, whether you write it negatively or positively, at the end of the day, it will affect you, your family, community and the country so write it well”, he said.
Ralda further urged the students to use the gift of time and life by God to do positive things and not misuse them.
PNG DataCo Ltd general manager commercial Une O’ome also encourage the graduates to be resilient and to help fix the country and its system which were going through some challenging times.
“When the systems seem broken, don’t walk away, stay, work and fix it, like you did during your studies when encountering tough times”, he said.
“When the odds are against you, don’t give up, be the generation that doesn’t give up and accept the situation as it is but push for change”.
O’ome further urged the students to adopt the growth mindset, ask questions and learn new things habits.
“I challenge you today to be resilient when the world is tough, keep growing when others stop and pursue success that matters and will impact those around you”, he said.
