THE International Training Institute has obtained institutional membership with Oracle Academy, a worldwide educational branch of Oracle Corporation that has been supporting the advancement of technology education, skill-building, innovation, and inclusion in academic institutions.
In Papua New Guinea, ITI is the second higher education institution to attain Oracle institutional membership. ITI’s membership is valid until February 12, 2027.
ITI Chairman and co-founder, Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval thanked PNG DataCo for introducing ITI to Oracle Academy and said this partnership provides ITI the access to Oracle’s software, curriculum, training resources and certifications.
Mr. Sentheyval added that Oracle Academy’s comprehensive program will support both the academic staff and students taking up technology focused courses across its seven campuses to develop essential skills and professional development needed to succeed in today’s fast-paced technological landscape.
Une O’Ome – General Manager for Commercial Business Unit at PNG DataCo said this partnership is important because in the past, students will have to go and have another certification outside, like CISCO and others “but with this partnership, we have an opportunity for our young aspiring Papua New Guinean technocrats, who in addition to their academic qualifications like degree or diploma can also have some professional certification and proficiency in some of Oracle’s technologies.”
One of the key benefits of this membership is the curricula focused on essential topics such as object-oriented programming (Java), database management, Oracle Cloud, construction and engineering project management, and advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
ITI will also benefit from Oracle Academy’s Education Bytes, which are short, flexible, and modular learning resources that include hands-on labs, projects, and challenges with answer guides and lab solutions.
The partnership will also provide the opportunity for professional development for educators, eligibility to participate in Oracle Academy advisory groups, eligibility to be featured in a member success story and more.
