The International Training Institute (ITI) was founded in March 1999 to provide quality and affordable education to the people of Papua New Guinea. The institute’s humble beginnings saw it renting two rooms at Ori Lavi Haus in Boroko NCD, one of which was an office and the other a computer lab with seven computers. In its initial year of operation, ITI offered certificate courses in computing and enrolled 30 students.

As the number of students increased, ITI moved to larger premises within Ori Lavi Haus and established affiliations with the Queensland Institute of Business and Technology (QIBT) and the University of Southern Queensland. ITI acquired experience in the Australian education system through these affiliations and improved its internal processes and quality.

ITI’s dedication to providing education in remote areas of Papua New Guinea led to the establishment of its first campus in Lae in 2004. Since then, the institute has opened several Campuses in other centres, including Kimbe, Alotau, Goroka, Kiunga and Kokopo. With over 25 years of experience in providing education and training, ITI has become a household name in the country.
