THE International Training Institute (ITI) will be offering its first Bachelor program in accounting and finance in 2026 at its Port Moresby and Lae campuses. This was announced by ITI chairman and co-founder Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval during the launching last Friday.

Mr. Sentheyval said it has been the dream for the institution because Accounting has been the core subject since its establishment even though the institute has face a lot of challenges over the past 25 years and we have proven that we can achieve this great achievement  through dedication, hardworking Lectures and Managers.

Dean of Studies, Dr Ashok Jayaraman said the entry requirements for the program will include general criteria of 2.2 GPA or above with options available for Diploma in Accounting graduates to advance the degree course but must have a GPA of 2.0.

The same GPA requirement of 2.0 applies for those students who graduated with Advanced Diploma in Accounting program where 13 subjects will be exempted.

Students from other accredited institutions by DHERST must meet this admission requirements and submit their course outlines from the previous institutions to enroll for this degree program.

The program offers two-months internship before graduates can start their CPA studies. Manager for continued Professional Development Trainings and Branding with the Certified Practicing Accountants John Varey revealed that the program not only met but exceeded the standards set by International Federation of Accountants (IFOA).

He said students who graduate from this program will be eligible to continue under the CPA PNG program where they will take eight modules which are of international standard.
