The International Training Institute’s (ITI) 25th Anniversary marked a significant milestone with the introduction of two innovative programs designed for Grade 12 graduates – these courses provide the practical skills, needed to thrive in the evolving business landscape. These courses were introduced by ITI’s Chairman, Mr. Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval.

The Diploma in Small and Medium Business Management (DSMBM) is a new course tailored for high school graduates, SME owners and aspiring entrepreneurs – now open to students for ITI’s July Intake in Port Moresby.

Prospective students are required to complete four semesters within a two-year span, prior to receiving their diploma. Like most of ITI’s Diploma courses, students have the opportunity to undergo an internship after they have successfully completed 16 subjects – equipping students with theoretical knowledge but also emphasizes practical experience through internships, allowing them to apply their learning in real-world scenarios.

This Diploma program aims to provide an in-depth perspective in the field of small and medium business management and to deliver expertise in Business Law, Human Resources, Business Economics, Accounting and Social Entrepreneurship – giving students diverse skills in Business Management and the ability to develop important analytical and cognitive skills to run a successful business.

Papua New Guinea is rich in natural resources and labor, giving younger citizens the opportunity to develop business management skills in the primary sector – as they develop these primary resources into manufactured goods for consumption. With growing opportunities in the SME sector, this course is capable of delivering the practical skills needed to tackles this shift in PNG’s business sector.

By nurturing entrepreneurial talent and providing practical tools for business management, ITI is fostering a new generation of business leaders poised to transform the primary sector and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
